Med spa treatments are non-surgical, and each works on a specific part of the face: wrinkle relaxers like Botox and Dysport soften lines made by muscle movement, dermal fillers restore facial volume in the cheeks, lips, chin, and jawline, and SkinPen, CO2 laser, and facials work on the surface itself. This guide maps all of it onto one face, then shows real before and after photos of Coastal Health & Medical Spa patients in Jacksonville for each area, so you can find your concern and see what treating it looks like.
Quick Answer
Med spa treatments map to the face by what they fix: Botox and Dysport relax movement lines on the forehead, brows, and around the eyes; dermal fillers restore volume in the cheeks, under eyes, smile lines, lips, chin, and jawline; Kybella and the Nefertiti lift shape the chin and neck; SkinPen, CO2 laser, and facials treat skin texture and tone.
Key Points
- Every before and after here is a real Coastal patient photographed in our Jacksonville office; where no photo exists yet, the card shows the treatment itself.
- Timing differs by treatment: wrinkle relaxers show at 2 to 14 days, filler is visible right away and settled by about 2 weeks, and SkinPen builds over 3 to 6 months.
- One concern often has two tools: lost volume calls for filler, muscle movement calls for a wrinkle relaxer, and many plans combine both.
- A fair before and after matches angle, lighting, distance, expression, and timing.
- Every card ends the same way: a free consultation where Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN, maps the plan to your face.

How to Read a Real Before and After
Two photos can look different for the wrong reasons. Check for the same lighting, the same angle, the same distance from the camera, and no makeup in either shot. Timing matters too: a filler photo taken the same day still has swelling in it, and a Botox photo taken the same day shows nothing at all, because the product hasn’t started working yet.
The photos in this guide are Coastal patients, photographed in our Jacksonville office, and each one is a single person’s result. Yours will differ, because your face and your goals are different. That’s also why we skip stock images: a model who never had the treatment can’t show you what it does.
Forehead, 11s, and Crow’s Feet: Botox and Dysport Before and After
Botox before and after, forehead lines. Botox in Jacksonville
| Treats | Forehead lines, the 11s (frown lines) between the brows, crow’s feet |
| What the visit is like | 10 to 20 minutes; no numbing needed |
| What you feel | A few tiny pinpricks; small bumps fade within hours |
| Downtime | Little to none; back to your day |
| How long it lasts | Botox about 3 to 4 months; Dysport up to 5 months for some |
Lines that show up when you raise your brows, frown, or squint are made by muscle, so the fix is a wrinkle relaxer. Botox in Jacksonville and Dysport in Jacksonville both relax the muscle under the line so the skin stops creasing, which is why the photo above shows a smoothed forehead with expression intact. Botox shows within 2 to 14 days, Dysport within 2 to 3, and both settle at about two weeks. Results hold for roughly 3 to 4 months, so most patients plan a repeat visit a few times a year. This botulinum toxin overview covers the approved uses.
“In my experience, choosing between Botox and other wrinkle relaxers really depends on your unique goals, facial anatomy, and how your body responds to treatment. Dysport usually kicks in a bit faster, often within 1 to 2 days, while BOTOX® takes around 3 to 5 days. It also spreads more easily, making it great for larger areas like the forehead.”
Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN
“…she was very professional and did exactly what I ask for and did a followup today which I appreciated and did a quick touch up…”

Brows and Hooded Eyes: Botox Brow Lift Before and After
Dr. Olivia placing a brow lift injection. Botox brow lift in Jacksonville
| Treats | Heavy or low brows, hooded upper eyelids, a tired or stern look |
| What the visit is like | 20 to 30 minutes arrival to walk-out; injections take 10 minutes or less |
| What you feel | A quick pinch per injection; no numbing needed |
| Downtime | None; tiny bumps fade within about 20 minutes |
| How long it lasts | 3 to 4 months; results show in 3 to 7 days |
A Botox brow lift in Jacksonville relaxes the small muscles that pull the brow down. With those out of the way, the forehead muscle that lifts the brow has less to work against, and the outer brow rises a few millimeters. That’s enough to open a hooded eye and take the heaviness out of your expression. We don’t have a brow lift before and after in our gallery yet, so the photo shows the treatment itself: Dr. Olivia placing the injections along the brow. It’s often done in the same visit as the forehead and 11s.

Cheeks and Midface: Cheek Filler Before and After
Cheek filler before and after, three-quarter view. Cheek filler in Jacksonville
Cheek filler before and after, front view. Cheek filler in Jacksonville
| Treats | Flat or hollow cheeks, lost midface volume, early sagging from that volume loss |
| What the visit is like | 30 to 60 minutes, with a topical numbing option |
| What you feel | A slight pinch or pressure; most fillers contain lidocaine |
| Downtime | Usual activities shortly after; mild swelling clears within about a week |
| How long it lasts | 12 to 18 months |
Cheek filler in Jacksonville restores the support that the rest of the face sits on. In the photos above, the after shows a lifted cheekbone and, because the midface is supported again, softer smile lines below it, with no filler placed in the lines themselves. That’s why cheeks are often the first place Dr. Olivia treats when someone asks about folds or a tired look. Results are visible before you leave and settle over a week or two. This dermal fillers overview explains what the different filler materials are made of.
Pairs well with: Sculptra in Jacksonville for gradual, collagen-based volume that builds over months.
Under Eyes: Under Eye Filler and PDGF Before and After
Dr. Olivia assessing the under eye area in consultation. Book a free consultation
| Treats | Hollows and dark shadows under the eyes, crepey skin, puffiness (PDGF) |
| What the visit is like | Numbing cream first; PDGF takes about 20 to 30 minutes |
| What you feel | Filler: most patients don’t feel pain; PDGF: a pinch, then a slight sting |
| Downtime | Minimal; bruising can take up to 2 weeks to clear |
| How long it lasts | Filler 6 to 12 months; PDGF 6 to 12 months, sometimes longer |
Under eye filler in Jacksonville fills the hollow that casts the shadow you read as a dark circle. You see the change right away, and it finishes settling at 1 to 2 weeks. PDGF under eye treatment in Jacksonville is the slower route: platelet-derived growth factors brighten and thicken that delicate skin, with subtle changes at 3 to 4 weeks and the full result over months. Because this area is unforgiving of overfilling, Dr. Olivia assesses it in person before recommending either. We don’t publish an under eye before and after yet, so the photo above is that consultation.
Pairs well with: PDGF under eye 101, which explains what growth factors do.
Smile Lines: Nasolabial Fold Filler Before and After
Dr. Olivia preparing filler for treatment. Nasolabial fold filler in Jacksonville
| Treats | Nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines, lost midface support |
| What the visit is like | 30 to 45 minutes arrival to walk-out; injections take 15 to 20, after numbing cream |
| What you feel | Pressure rather than pain; the filler contains lidocaine |
| Downtime | Same-day return to normal life, then a few days of settling |
| How long it lasts | 9 to 18 months |
Nasolabial fold filler in Jacksonville softens the crease that runs from the nose to the corner of the mouth, and you see it soften before you leave. Dr. Olivia checks the cheek first. When a dropped midface is what’s deepening the fold, supporting the cheek does more than filling the fold directly, and she’ll tell you so. The cheek filler photos above show a fold improving without being touched. We don’t have a Coastal before and after for this area yet, so the photo shows the injectable being prepared. Expect a few days of settling, and judge the result at about two weeks rather than on the day.

Lips: Lip Filler and Lip Flip Before and After
Lip filler before and after, three-quarter view. Lip filler in Jacksonville
Lip filler before and after, close-up. Lip filler in Jacksonville
| Treats | Thin or uneven lips, lost definition; a gummy smile or lipstick lines (lip flip) |
| What the visit is like | Filler with numbing cream first; a lip flip takes 5 to 10 minutes |
| What you feel | Filler: numbing keeps it comfortable; lip flip: a quick pinch |
| Downtime | Filler: minor swelling or bruising, no strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours; lip flip: no swelling |
| How long it lasts | Filler 6 to 12 months; a lip flip wears off on the usual Botox timeline, about 3 to 4 months |
Lip filler in Jacksonville adds volume and definition, and the two photos above show the range: a subtle border-and-hydration result and a fuller lip. Dr. Olivia placed both with a conservative hand, and each still looks like the person’s own lips. A lip flip in Jacksonville is the other option: a few Botox injections along the upper lip relax the muscle so the lip rolls slightly outward, showing more of it without adding volume. Filler settles at 1 to 2 weeks, and lips swell more than most areas, so the first two or three days look fuller than the final result. The FDA’s dermal fillers safety page covers the risks.
Pairs well with: after care for lip fillers.
Chin and Jawline: Facial Balancing, Jawline Filler, and Kybella Before and After
Facial balancing before and after, three-quarter view. Facial balancing in Jacksonville
Dr. Olivia marking the area under the chin at a Kybella consultation. Kybella in Jacksonville
| Treats | A soft jawline, early jowls, a small or recessed chin, fullness under the chin (Kybella), overall proportion (facial balancing) |
| What the visit is like | Filler 30 to 60 minutes with numbing cream; Kybella injections about 15 to 20 minutes with numbing or ice |
| What you feel | Filler: quick pinches or pressure; Kybella: mild, temporary discomfort and a slight sting afterward |
| Downtime | Filler: minimal; Kybella: minimal, with some swelling while the treated fat breaks down |
| How long it lasts | Jawline and chin filler 12 to 18 months; Kybella destroys the treated fat cells, so the result is long-lasting |
The patient above had facial balancing in Jacksonville: Dr. Olivia assessed proportion and symmetry front and profile, separated lost volume from muscle movement, and treated the lower face as a whole. The after shows a lifted midface, softer marionette lines, and a more defined jawline. Jawline filler in Jacksonville and chin filler in Jacksonville do the structural work, placed deep along the bone with results you see before you leave. Kybella in Jacksonville handles the opposite problem, fullness under the chin, with visible results 4 to 6 weeks after the first session.
Pairs well with: Kybella aftercare for the week after treatment.
Neck: Nefertiti Lift Before and After
Nefertiti neck lift before and after. Nefertiti lift in Jacksonville
| Treats | Vertical neck bands, early jowls, a softening jawline |
| What the visit is like | 15 to 30 minutes; no numbing cream required |
| What you feel | A quick pinch |
| Downtime | None |
| How long it lasts | 3 to 4 months; results begin in 3 to 7 days and peak around 2 weeks |
A Nefertiti lift in Jacksonville uses Botox along the platysma, the thin sheet of muscle in the neck that pulls the jawline down with age. Relax it and the bands soften, the jawline looks sharper, and the line from face to neck smooths out, which is what the before and after above shows in a Coastal patient. It’s the same principle as the brow lift, applied to the neck. The change arrives gradually, beginning at 3 to 7 days and peaking around two weeks, with nothing to hide in between.
Pairs well with: the Nefertiti lift explained, including who it suits.
Skin Surface: SkinPen, CO2 Laser, and Facials Before and After
Microneedling before and after, texture and tone. SkinPen microneedling in Jacksonville
Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN, performing SkinPen. SkinPen microneedling in Jacksonville
Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN, performing a HydraFacial. HydraFacial in Jacksonville
| Treats | Fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, sun damage, uneven tone, dullness, peach fuzz, congestion |
| What the visit is like | SkinPen 60 to 90 minutes including numbing; CO2 laser about an hour; facials 30 to 60 minutes |
| What you feel | SkinPen: a gentle vibration or sandpaper feel; CO2: warmth and snapping with chilled air; facials: light tingling |
| Downtime | SkinPen 1 to 2 days of pink skin; CO2 about 1 day (Light) to 2 to 3 days (Aggressive); facials and dermaplaning none |
| How long it lasts | SkinPen series 6 to 12 months; CO2 series 3 to 5 years; a facial glow about a week or longer |
This last stop is about texture and tone. SkinPen microneedling in Jacksonville makes controlled micro-channels that prompt the skin to rebuild collagen, and the microneedling before and after above shows what that produces: smoother texture and more even tone on the same face. Coastal checks your skin type on the Fitzpatrick scale and takes baseline photos before the first session, so you’re comparing against your own skin. CO2 laser resurfacing in Jacksonville goes deeper for sun damage, dark spots, acne scars, and laxity, and is the most involved skin rejuvenation on this map. For glow with no downtime, a brightening facial, dermaplaning in Jacksonville, or a HydraFacial in Jacksonville with Danielle Hancock, Licensed Aesthetician, fits between bigger treatments.
“Danielle gave me an amazing facial! This was my very first facial experience and I could not recommend Coastal Health or Danielle more! I got a mama glow facial for my Mother’s Day gift and it was actually heavenly…”

For Men: Botox for Men Before and After
Botox for men in Jacksonville is the same product with different planning: deeper injection points and a conservative brow, so the result looks rested instead of surprised. The goal is softened forehead lines with the brow position untouched, and we will add a Coastal before and after here once one is cleared. Results last 3 to 4 months at first, often 4 to 6 with regular treatments, and the consultation is free.
“As someone who’s performed many Botox injections and holds a background in pharmacology, I’ve learned that the ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach simply doesn’t work. Men have fundamentally different facial structures, stronger muscle mass, and distinct expectations for their results.”
Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN
When You Will See It
The most common reason a before and after disappoints is that it was taken too early. Wrinkle relaxers need days, filler needs a couple of weeks to settle, and collagen treatments need months. This is the timing Coastal quotes for each.
When results appear, by treatment. Book a free consultation
| Treatment | First change | Settled or peak result |
|---|---|---|
| Botox and Dysport | 2 to 14 days (Dysport often 2 to 3) | Full result at about 2 weeks |
| Dermal filler | Right away | Settles by about 2 weeks |
| SkinPen microneedling | First glow around day 7; remodeling weeks 2 to 4 | Peak builds over 3 to 6 months |
| Sculptra | Early fullness is swelling; settles in 24 to 72 hours | Collagen builds over 3 to 6 months |
| Kybella | 4 to 6 weeks after the first session | Keeps building over the following weeks |
Which One Is Me?
Match your concern to the area, then read that card. If two rows fit, that’s normal; most plans at Coastal combine a wrinkle relaxer with one filler area.
| Your concern | Usual starting point | Read the card |
|---|---|---|
| Lines that appear when you move your face | Botox or Dysport | Forehead, 11s, crow’s feet |
| Flat cheeks, a tired or hollow look | Cheek filler or Sculptra | Cheeks and midface |
| Folds from the nose to the mouth | Nasolabial fold filler, often with cheek support | Smile lines |
| Thin or undefined lips | Lip filler or a lip flip | Lips |
| Soft jawline, small chin, fullness under the chin | Jawline filler, chin filler, facial balancing, or Kybella | Chin and jawline |
| Neck bands or a dropping jawline | Nefertiti lift | Neck |
| Texture, scars, tone, dullness | SkinPen, CO2 laser, or a facial | Skin surface |
What Your First Visit Looks Like at Coastal
The consult room at Coastal. Book a free consultation
Every treatment on this map starts the same way: a free consultation with Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN, or, for facials and skin treatments, Danielle Hancock, Licensed Aesthetician. You’ll sit in the consult room pictured above, talk through what bothers you, and get an honest read on your treatment options, including whether the treatment you came in asking about is the one that will address it. Dr. Olivia looks at your face front and profile, works out where the issue is volume versus movement, and builds the plan around your goals. If something isn’t right for you, she’ll say so. Baseline photos mean your own before and after is measured against you, and there’s no pressure to book the same day.
“I recently booked an appointment with Dr. Olivia to discuss changes that I’ve noticed in my face due to weight loss and beginning stages of aging. I had no idea which treatment would suit my needs but I told her all about my concerns and she patiently listened and made excellent and reasonable suggestions…”

“I had a wonderful experience during my consultation at the Coastal Health & Medical Spa. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and made me feel comfortable…”

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a med spa treatment?
A med spa treatment is a cosmetic procedure performed at a medical spa under a licensed provider, such as a nurse practitioner, rather than at a day spa. Examples include Botox and Dysport, dermal fillers, SkinPen microneedling, CO2 laser resurfacing, and medical-grade facials. At Coastal, injectables are performed by Dr. Olivia, DNP, APRN.
What’s the downside of getting Botox?
It’s temporary, so keeping the result means repeat visits about every 3 to 4 months. Placement matters: too much, or in the wrong muscle, can look flat or drop a brow for a few weeks until it wears off. Small bruises and a mild headache are the common short-term side effects. An experienced injector is the main protection.
How long does filler in lips last?
Lip filler at Coastal typically lasts 6 to 12 months, depending on the product, how much was placed, and how quickly your body breaks it down. Lips move constantly, so filler there tends to fade sooner than cheek or jawline filler. Results show right away and finish settling in 1 to 2 weeks.
Will cheek fillers lift my face?
Cheek filler restores volume over the cheekbone, and because the midface supports the tissue below it, the result often shows up as a subtle lift with softer smile lines. Filler won’t tighten loose skin the way a surgical facelift does, but for sagging that comes from volume loss it makes a visible difference, as the cheek photos above show.
What does your face look like 2 days after microneedling?
By day 2 the sunburn-like redness has usually faded to a light pink that mineral makeup covers, with faint pinpoint marks where the needles entered and sometimes a little morning puffiness. Skin feels dry and tight, so stick to lukewarm water, a plain hyaluronic acid serum, and mineral sunscreen. Our microneedling aftercare guide walks through each day.
Does facial balancing actually work?
Yes, when the plan is built on your own proportions. Dr. Olivia assesses symmetry front and profile, separates volume loss from muscle movement, and treats the whole face with the least product needed. The facial balancing photos above show what that approach produces: a lifted, more defined lower face that still looks like the same person.
